On Friday we said goodbye to Rosanna, one of our Erasmus placement students, who has finished a 5 month placement with us as part of her Masters Degree in Translation from the University of Pisa. We have really enjoyed having Rosanna on placement and wish her every success with the rest of her course, and future career.
We have recently appointed two Translation Managers, who will be joining the team over the next few weeks. Both are masters level qualified in translation, and are Polish native, though with complimentary additional languages.
We are currently recruiting Erasmus placement students for early 2014. To be eligable, you need to be following a recognised Masters Degree in Translation at a European University, and be supported by your university in applying for Erasmus funding. We don’t offer any financial support to Erasmus placement students, but you will be pro-actively supported in your professional development by our translation project management team. Key requirements are Native proficiency in a major European, Middle Eastern or Asian language, a good level of written and spoken English, attention to detail, good interpersonal skills, the ability to work as part of a team, and a willingness to learn. Working knowledge of Trados Studio is desirable. Our aim is to give placement students a good understanding of the translation industry, and this will help you in your future career, either as a freelance or inhouse translator, or in translation project management. Whilst we can give no guarantees of future employment, we will actively consider the best placement students for future project management positions within the organisation.
