betterlanguages.com translation agency 2009 review
December 14th, 2009 - News
As 2009 draws to a close, its interesting to look back at some of our achievements in the last twelve months. Several milestones have been achieved including:
1) translation into new languages, including English to Catalan and Catalan to English, and English to Kazakh and Moldavian.
2) Our fastest ever large volume job, translating 62,000 words into Polish in 5 working days. Not sure whether the translation team slept during this project. Its not our recommended way of working, but sometimes needs must, and it got our client out of a tricky problem having been let down by another agency.
3) Our highest volume single language project into Hungarian. We are often asked what our most translated languages are, and people might be surprised that a language like Hungarian would come top, of course we also translate into the languages you might expect, such as Spanish, French and German.
4) Our widest range of languages on a single order (29 languages). Clients often think that adding languages adds to timescale, to an extent this is true as multi-language jobs are more complex to manage, but translators all work at the same time as each other, so adding more languages doesn’t necessarily add to delivery time.
5) Our largest ever e-business project into 11 European languages. This was a very interesting and complex job to work on. Not least because it was a high volume of work to very tight deadlines.
6) Significant business growth. We were really pleased to have grown 173% in 2008 – 9, especially since much of the work came late in the year, when the country as a whole had entered recession. In the first 6 months of 2009 – 10, we had already matched figures for the whole of the previous year.
