Professional Dutch Translation Services

Dutch is used as a first or second language by a over 30 million people around the World. It is a Germanic language primarily spoken in the Netherlands, but also spoken by Dutch Communities in Aruba, Indonesia, and in Suriname, which is a former Dutch colony.  Afrikaans, and Flemish are often considered dialects of Dutch. At Better Languages we believe that no one expresses a written language with the sharpness of a native. That is why all of our translators are native speakers, who can ensure understanding, accuracy and authentic tone. We individually select our professional Dutch translators for each translation job – not only based on their language skills but also on their expertise in your topic or niche.

Passionate About the Dutch Language

We not only provide professional and reliable Dutch translation services, we’re aware that not all Dutch language is the same, the dialects are remarkably different. The spoken language varies from region to region in the Netherlands, but there are considerable differences between Countries. That is why Better Languages works with you to understand the audience of your translation so we can advise of the dialect and other cultural variations you need to be aware of. Belgian Dutch is also known as Flemish, and despite the EU classifying a single language for both Belgium and Holland, Flemish is distinctly different to Dutch for Holland, and is considered a seperate language, even though they are mutually understood. It is a bit like comparing US and UK English, there are many similarities, but also important differences. In some areas of technical translation there will be little difference in terminology between the two, for example in food ingredients, but in other areas of translation, such as marketing it is really important to localise for the correct country

Proofing Your Dutch Translation

Better Languages offers a finished artwork sign-off service in which our professional Dutch translators can check and sign-off any artwork containing translation before it is sent off to print. There is an additional charge for this service but we really believe there is no substitute for a translator checking the final version of your artwork. An extra letter inputted or removed accidentally  during the production of your artwork could really spoil the end result and potentially change the entire meaning of a word or sentence.
