better languages took part in a translation conference in London over the weekend, its always good to meet up with colleagues and to hear about translation industry developments. The conference was organised by Proz in partnership with the Institute of Translation and Interpreting and the Chartered Institute of Linguists. It was interesting to learn about latest developments in the industry especially in the field of open source software, and translation specific IT such as computer assisted translation, and content management systems. The basic premise of the translator as a strategic partner may sound strange to some translation clients, but our aim as an agency is to work in partnership with our clients, understanding their needs, and seeking to continually improve our translation services and other language services. It was refreshing to hear that colleagues and competitiors within the translation industry share our view.
