elearning translation services

elearning translation services can enable you to deliver training programmes correctly localised into the languages of your staff or customers in other parts of the world.

betterlanguages translates elearning materials into a wide range of languages. Recent projects have included HR manuals and training materials for a major retailer, a Korean staff training course, and an online IT training programme. We can work in Word, Excel, or XML, and can also translate computer strings and static HTML. Pricing depends on the required languages, volume of work, any special formatting requirements and level of QA required. We would normally recommend testing of the finished programme by the original translators in addition to the normal processes of proofreading and QA checks.

Volumes and translation timescales:

On large projects it is possible for us to use more than one translator per language to speed up translation delivery. We use shared translation memory to aid consistency, however, this is always a compromise, as there will always be differences in style and tone between translators, also if they are working simultaniously in real time, they may choose inconsistent terminology.

Glossaries, internal elearning and technical terminology:

If you have a pre-prepared glossary of approved terminology we can work with your chosen terminology. Some projects can only be truely accurate if the client provides such materials. For example if we were translating health and safety training materials based on information in the public domain, the translators can consult reference materials, but if we are working with internal training materials, it may be impossible for us to know the chosen word or phrase which is being used on a construction site in France or Finland, China or the Czech Republic.
