Founded in Nottingham in 1993, the business has maintained strong links with the city. Mike Hunter the CEO of better languages, studied at Nottingham Trent University, completing his BA in 1984 and MBA in 2000.

Nottingham has a rich cultural heritage, including the legend of Robin Hood. There are two active football clubs. Notts County have the distinction of being the oldest league club in the world, and after promotion last year to league 1, are looking to continue their climb up the English league.  Mike Hunter, the CEO of better languages, is a fanatical Notts County fan, and a season ticket holder. Even when living near Madrid in the 2004-5 season, he still managed to attend 5 home league games at Meadow Lane. Nottingham Forest the city’s other league club famously won two consecutive European Cups in a row, and last year narrowly missed out on promotion into the Premier League, being beaten by Blackpool in the play-off semi-final.

The city is also home to a successful cricket club, their ground Trent Bridge being a popular venue for test cricket. We had the pleasure of attending one of the Twenty Twenty World Cup matches last summer, and it really is top class entertainment. Nottingham also has the National Watersports Centre at Holme Pierrepont, and the National Ice Arena, with two Olympic sized rinks. There are two highly regarded universities, Nottingham University and Nottingham Trent.

Nottingham is also home to some highly successful companies such as retail chemists Boots, who are a large UK retailer, Experian, who provide a wide range of data and IT services, Raleigh, the cycle manufacturers, and ClinPhone (now part of Perceptive Informatics), who specialise in Clinical trials information for the pharmaceutical sector.

betterlanguages.com translation agency uses many local suppliers, for example our IT support (both hardware and software) is supplied by Smellie Savage Computers of West Bridgford, Nottingham. We use a Nottingham web developer Attitude Design,  another excellent Nottingham company. We are extremely satisfied with both companies services, and would heartily recommend them to other Nottingham businesses.

Our PR and press contact is handled by Pressman PR, a local Nottingham PR agency. We have had very good local media and trade press coverage since they started our campaign in 2008.
